Sailung Trek is a dive into the countryside of Nepal which is a junction of beautiful nature and religion. The Sailung region resides at an elevation of 3150 meters on the south-west of Charikot village of Dolkha district at SayaThumka hill. The Sailung Trek is one of the off-beaten trekking destinations that is not much crowded and not much fancy in regards to other trekking destinations of Everest and Annapurna region. The Sailung region is located 18km away from the main transit of charikot village which is the center of business and transport. Sailung Trek is off beaten trekking trail that offers a blend of rich social legacy, natural beauty, and Tamang settlements living in this region.

The Sailung region is solitary nature of lush vegetation, countryside settlements, and fine hilly natural establishment which makes it a fine trekking destination of Nepal. The Sailung Trek leads the travelers to its final junction named as ThuloSailung of 3500 meters. The region of Thulosailung is the place of 360-degree Himalayan viewpoint of Mount Makalu, Mount Dhaulagiri, Mount Everest, Kalinchowk, Annapurna ranges, Langtang ranges, Ganesh Himal, Kanchanjunga ranges along with South Mahabharata Hills, Sunkoshi River and Terai.The Sailung region is famous for its natural beauty, Himalaya perspective, and hundred green hills. The word Sailung means 100 hills where “Sai” means hundred and “lung” means windy hills. The sailung region is the region of 100 hills. This region is a pilgrimage destination for Hindus Lord Shiva’s temple known as SailungeshworMahadev.

The Sailung region is connected with the road but they are rough country roads that are blocked in rainy seasons but they are good for rest of the year. The travelers pass through LamchePokhari and travel through low land area. The Sailung region has the most visitors during the Hindu festivals of Janai Purnima, Bara BarseMela (12-years festival) and Balachaturdashi on the name of SailungeshworMahadev. The Sailung region has the Buddhist pilgrimage importance too as Lord Buddha once came to the Sailung and make the 13 colors to the sun to been seen in a day from this place. The sailung region is home of traditional communities like Brahmin, Chhettri, Magar, Pahari, Gurung, Tamang, Sherpa, Sarki, Damai and so forth. The region of Sailung is special for Tamang civilization of Nepal and the Tamang locale of Sailung as the residence of their provincial deity named as SailungPhoiSibdaKarpo which means Sailung’s “white male who is lord of the earth”. There is a Chorten at the top of the hill of Sailung which symbolizes the seat of SailungPhoiSibdaKarpo and Tamang Community as the “Guardians of this land”.

Day 08: Dahu-Thuloparsel (5 Hour-camp)

Day 09: Thuloparsel-Rest day

Day 10: Thuloparsel-Methinkot (5 Hour-camp)

Day 11: Methinkot-Namobuddha (4 Hour-camp)

Day 12: Namobuddha-Panauti-Kathmandu
