Overview

Langtang Valley is resided on the northern side of Kathmandu valley and is one of the mainstream trekking zones in Nepal.

Langtang Valley Trek lies in a sandwiched region between the south of the Tibetan edges and the Himalayan region toward the northern region. The Langtang region is dominated by the Himalayas like LangtangLirung of 7246meters, Mt. Chhenpo of 6388meters, Naya Kanga Ri of 5846meters on the south and Mt. DorjeLakpa of 6966meters at the east. Langtang Valley Trekking is classified as an easy trekking adventure that takes place in the remote bewildering valley of Langtang locale accompanied by 108 glacier lakes, protected wildlife reserve named as Langtang national park and antique traditional Sherpa and tamang settlement called “Helambu.  Moreover, the tourist can dive into the wildlife nature in Langtang National park full of Himalayan flora and fauna enveloped by splendid ice woodwinds of Mt. Gyangchempo.

10 Days Langtang valley trek begins with the vehicle drive along the Trisuli River towards the north of Kathmandu valley finishing at Syabrubensi which is a nearby Sherpa settlement with traditional farming lands. The Langtang valley has a community of resident villagers who have migrated from Tibet to Langtang valley and have turned themselves as Nepali citizens as Tamang civilization. Even though the Tamang people have mixed cultures of Nepali and Tibetan races but the society here is still the same as in classical Tibet. During their trekking excursion through Langtang National Park the tourists encounter wild animals like red panda, musk deer, and various feathered species like Danphe which is a colorful bird. In the middle of the trekking adventure, the tourists land on the hillside of kyanginRi and KyanginGompa at an elevation of 3740 meters.

The tourists following the trekking trail to KyanginGompa traverse various traditional farming lands, forests of rhododendron, oak, and magnolia along with some areas covered with snow. The tourists take overnight boarding at the place of kyanginGompa and sometimes stay there for two-three days for acclimatization. During their stay, the travelers visit a traditional cheese factory located in this region along with a high hill of KyanginRi which provides a 360-degree of perspective of the surrounding region along with Tibetan borders. The tourists further travel higher to Sing Gompamonastery followed by glacier lake called Gosainkunda. The tourists finally leave the Langtang region by crossing a high pass of 4610 meters called Laurebena Pass and going towards a traditional village settlement and region called Helambu Valley. The travelers finally land at Dhunche Bazar to board a vehicle to return to Kathmandu. we are ready to redesign the Itinerary for shorter days as well longer Langtang valley treks if your timeframe does not cover this 10-day Langtang trek.

Volker Brecht says:

it was a friendship from the beginning. Simbir and his colleague Chitra led us 16 germans through the amazing landscape, handled wonderful the little and bigger problems, was totally flexible when necessary. Above all is to be mentioned the humorous and always empathetic character of Simbir. I came as stranger - and left as a friend! if we go back to Nepal we definitely use his company Himalaya View Treks that for sure!...
