Daniela Petroni says:

we (a group of six) wanted to hire porter guides to accompany us on a two week 3 high passes trek in the (solukhumbu) Everest region. we found simbir's homepage on the internet and it appealed to us as we wanted to spend our money with a small local enterprise. we were not disappointed in any way: the communication with simbir before the trip was very helpful and on meeting simbir in his small office in a busy corner of kathmandu we knew we would be with the right people. after flying into lukla, we were met by a guide who introduced us to our three porter guides who would be our valuable friends and helpers. we called one of them "strongman" which proved to be a very good name over the next couple of days. mister strongman always walked a little in front of us and reserved our accommodation for the night. even though the communication was not always easy, as the porterguides spoke very little english, we managed to transport what we needed them to know. for people who are less experienced in mountaineering or really interested in receiving tons of cultural information on the way, i would recommend to hire a guide as well as porters. for us more independent travelers, the three porterguides were the ideal solution. we loved every bit of our unforgettable trip to nepal and are very grateful for this experience! highly recommended! thank you simbir!...
